Next up in our newest sartorial series is the bright and brilliant Pandora Sykes, freelance journalist. and new blogger extraordinaire. Having graced the pages of almost every London Fashion Week-based street style gallery on the world wide web (not to mention all those in print) Pandora has recently taken to pandorasykes.com to share her thoughts with the world. Broaching everything from the overuse of the iPhone to the dos and don’ts of dirty music videos, via a slew of brilliantly styled outfit posts, it’s our new favourite online destination, so do head on over there for a brilliant read (after you’ve read the below of course!)
Talk us through your outfit:
I’m a big fan of tonal blocking and my favourite colour is red. It’s not hard to see how I arrived at this sartorial destination. The suede skirt is a vintage A-Line number — all my best skirts are vintage — and I’m pretty sure my Dad bought me these LK Bennett courts for a party when I was 15 years old. They are the Benjamin Buttons of the shoe world, though, as they are still in great nick. And obviously, adding the rust coloured CT knit into the mix was the icing on the cake. Or, tomato.
W hat is it you love about the Chunky Jumper?
The trophy knit is a big thing in a girl’s wardrobe these days, adding that base note of luxury. I own more jumpers than I do t-shirts (true story) but the thick and cosy fisherman-esque jumpers — such as this one — are the best.
If you could have one other piece of the AW13 collection which would you choose?
This sweater, in red or grey (so useful.)
And last but not least – if you had a pet penguin what would you call it?
Cornelius. Because it’s a terribly regal name and my goldfish, who just died, was named so. (RIP, Corny.)
N.B you can buy the chunky jumper in store now at 1 Ellis Street, London, SW1X 9AL.
